The best business backup software is not simply the product that stores the most data for the lowest monthly cost. It is the solution that restores the right information, quickly enough, when your people and customers need it.

For UK SMEs, that decision needs to account for more than storage capacity. You may have files in Microsoft 365, accounting data in a cloud application, documents on office servers, staff working remotely and contractual or regulatory duties to protect records. A backup plan must reflect how your business actually operates, not how a software licence happens to be priced.

Backup and recovery are related, but they are not the same thing. A backup is a protected copy of data. Recovery is the ability to make that data usable again after an incident.
